Elegant Fall Wedding at Whitewater Golf Club | Thunder Bay Wedding Photographer

As a wedding photographer in Thunder Bay, Ontario, I’ve had the honour of capturing so many beautiful love stories—but Krista and Sheldon’s wedding at the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre was one that felt extra special. Not only was it filled with joy, laughter, and love—it was also incredibly personal, as I’ve known Krista since high school. Being trusted to document such a big moment in her life was a true privilege.

Their wedding day, held on October 5th, 2024, was a perfect example of autumn elegance mixed with pure celebration. The day began in the bridal suite at the Valhalla Hotel, where Krista was putting the final touches on her hair and makeup. The room was buzzing with excitement as her bridesmaids, full of energy and love, laughed, reminisced, and counted down the moments until “I do.”

A Stunning Fall Ceremony in the Courtyard

Krista and Sheldon exchanged vows in the Valhalla courtyard, surrounded by rich fall colours and unusually warm weather for October. The sun was shining, the leaves were glowing, and the entire ceremony felt like a page out of a storybook. It was the kind of fall wedding photographers dream of—gorgeous light, stunning details, and an atmosphere full of love.

After the ceremony, we made our way to Chippewa Park for their bridal portraits and wedding party photos. The bridal party was an absolute blast to work with—full of laughs, energy, and love for the couple. The lake views, autumn trees, and natural beauty of Thunder Bay created the perfect backdrop for timeless and romantic images.

A Reception Full of Heartfelt Moments

Back at the Valhalla Hotel, the couple made their grand entrance into the reception, greeted with cheers and happy tears. Having been together for nearly ten years before tying the knot, the speeches were not only hilarious, but deeply heartfelt. Friends and family shared stories that had everyone laughing, crying, and celebrating just how perfect these two are together.

The dance floor? Absolutely packed! With Thunder and Light DJ Services keeping the beats going, guests lit up the night with glow wands, bubbles, and nonstop dancing. Krista looked like she was living her dream—surrounded by friends and family, smiling from ear to ear, and dancing like no one was watching. It was an unforgettable celebration.
